Overview
A dual-degree programme awarded jointly by the Royal University of Law and Economics and Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL).
Students study the foundation and second year at RULE. For the third and fourth years, students go to study at SWUPL in Chongqing, China, where a scholarship covers accommodation and tuition.
What you will be able to do
Knowledge — work across two legal systems, covering Cambodian civil, criminal, commercial and administrative law alongside Chinese constitutional, civil, criminal procedure, economic and investment law.
Thinking skills — apply comparative legal method to cross-border problems, including international trade, maritime and intellectual property disputes.
Interpersonal skills and responsibility — negotiate and advocate in a second and third language, through moot court trials, commercial arbitration moot training and collective negotiation simulation.
Numeracy, IT and communication skills — reach professional working proficiency in Chinese, including legal writing.
Entry Requirements
Holding the High School Certificate (BacII) or equivalent.
Passing an interview conducted in Chinese by RULE. Candidates who finished grade 9 in Chinese do not need to go through the interview section.
Students must obtain at least HSK4 to be able to study in China for the third and fourth years.
Careers
Graduates are equipped for cross-border legal practice between Cambodia and China — in law firms, companies trading across the two markets, government, and international organisations.
